Blinded by hate? May 21, 2008

A few days ago my son came to me and told me that his American social science teacher had taught them about the holocaust that day. He had done this even though the school had asked him not to teach the kids about this…
What can I say?
How sad is the world?
Are people down here so blinded by their hate for Israel that they refuse to acknowledge what happened? I can tell you that I surely don’t like Israel and what they are up to but that won’t stop me from telling my kids about the holocaust. Why? Because it happened and it was awful. Shame we are letting the same thing happen again and again in other countries and with other people. I am really disappointed in the school since this is part of basic education in my opinion. Didn’t expect this from a school that calls itself “International”. Do any schools down here teach the kids what happened?

Want to deny this? Ignore it perhaps?

From the Holocaust Research Project site:

“It was once said that not remembering the Holocaust means to side with the executioners against its victims; not to remember means to kill the victims a second time; not to remember means to become an accomplice of the enemy. On the other hand, to remember means to feel compassion for the victims of all persecutions.

By solemnly commemorating the tragedy of the Holocaust, we will keep history in mind, never forget the past, cherish all lives, and create a better future.”

Jag skulle ha blivit fullständigt rabiat!! Hade nog haft inte bara haft ett samtal, utan ett antal samtal med skolan. Helt absurt att inte tala om det som förändrade historien…

Sad 😦
I read the other day in an email (I don’t know if it’s a scam) that the schools in the UK had to take this part of history out of their lessons, because Muslims protested against it…..

Brainwashed by the Media…

The Holocoust DID happen…however the extent of the autrosities is disputable unless you want to tell me that Americans are so honest that they are the one that drove the Holocoust (of Jews by the way) into the Media more than the Europeans (where Jews still live todate in Cantons…Wonder why?).

If Schools in this part of the world need to educate children about the Holocoust, then the same teacher who sadly explained to your son how the loss of life of jews was an event worth mentioning in a class room, then the same teacher MUST also educate your son and our children on the atrocities committed by the AMERICANS and the WORLD in IRaq…did we all forget or prefer to ignore (because muslims and arabs are CHEAP) that a few million people mostly women, children and elderly died in IRaq over a period of 10 years as a result of the embargo on that country? Do you want us to learn history from a teacher who is biast? Let this same teacher educate your son and our children on the number of palestinians killed (I dont mean the “masked armed men”) over only the last 5 years, let alone during WWII and when the UK decided to give away Palestinian land to JEWS (not out of love of Jews or hate of arabs at the time, but merely to rid Europe of their presence…it was a “polite holocoust”). Are Jews more important in History than Japanese? Did this teacher you are defending inform your son that the americans intentionally assasinated millions of Japanese by NUKING them?? The after shock of that event lasted many years following its detonation and sent ripples of disease, poverty, handicap, birthdefects, etc to the People of Japan. Is their blood cheaper than those of jews? Did this smart teacher who cares about the human race educate your son abou the crimes committed by the soviet union (mind you, not against jews) against their own people during the time of Lenin? Stalin? Do you and your readers and commentators actually have an idea of how many peasant russians were killed during that era? I would like to remind you that about 3million people were “executed” during Stalin’s rule alone, as well as about 3million or more deported to Syberia and other countries.

Did he (this great teacher) educate your son that Israel, invaded an Arab Capital once considered the Switzerland of the Middle East, BEIRUT, in 1982, killing, wounding and making homeless, thousands of people? actually, does he even KNOW about this event? or is it not significant? was it not under the eyes and ears of the “united nations” and “human rights watch” and and and…as a matter of fact, i can bet you 90% that this teacher actually naively has NO IDEA even about this event..nor its significance apart from loss of life..

Did this “great international teacher (who is an american)” tell your son about the Sabra & Chatila Massacres? no??? ohh why not??? Didnt he tell your son how Captain Aerial Sharon and his gang of army and associated lebanese gangs enter a refugee camp in Beirut and brutally rape, execute and deform thousands of women, children and elderly (and MOSTLY of those categories, since the young men were out fighting)…What is the difference between raping a civilian peasant 10 times then cutting her up slowly with a knife while her children watch and wait their turn? and burning a civilian peasant in a larger chamber?

I can go on and on and that only from memory and without referring to referencces and books and writers and newspapers and historical data etc.

The world is filled with atrocities committed by many for reasons sometimes beyond our comprehedable imaginations. People of all faiths, races, political believes lost their lives and were left as refugees around the world over 100s of years..If we only remember some of them because of their race and becasue of their religion and becasue they currently control the Media and Gold and Banks and Insurance Companies etc..we would be doing unfair to the others who were not so fortunate to have someone highlight their painful history. Jews and Israel in particular are profiteering NOT educating people about the Holocoust..they are using the blood of those (jews) that perished under Hitler and Europe to blind the world on the atrocities they keep committing day in day out in favour of others..

If the school was a political party involved in promotion of Neo Republicans or committed to defend the rights of a particular race, then I agree this is where this teacher belongs..BUT otherwise, we are allowing him to continue brainwashing our children with “parts” of history, with some of the truth. Our children need to learn that ALL bloodshed is equal…that wars are evil, and that justice and equality are basic oxygen of community survival..

So..I beg to disagree with you and your readers on how “sad” the situation is…and how “unjust” the “school” is to not want to allow such kind of “targeted” education in its classrooms.

OH look at my own ignorance…I forgot the Tutsi (only about 800,000 to 1,000,000) that were slaughtered in Rwanda in 1994…yup…they were not Jews…PLEASE ask your son to check with the teacher if he can even locate Rwanda on a map…

what a shame….shame that someone like you, educated, liberal, democratic..can be so blinded..I beg you not to insult people in this part of the world and accuse them to be blinded by hate…without looking at yourself and your community and your people and see how blinded they are as well (regardless of reasons for the blindness)…

Dubbelörn, Jag låter HK som skrev sista kommentaren ta hand om att tala med skolan 😉 . Han har ju en massa åsikter som de kan ta del av.

Nicole, Ridiculous in my opinion..this is a starting point to understand what is happening today.

HK, Well I am not blinded as you know. We already spoke abt this over the phone and from knowing me for years you know I bleed and I am passionate about the causes you mentioned. You know my opinions about Israel, Qana and so on but since as you said my readers might not be very enlightened well thank you for teaching them the rest of the history.

Just because I didnt mention all these other atrocities doesn’t mean I am denying them or refusing to acknowledge them. You can do a search in my archives and you will find some posts of some of these things.

What my children will not be taught in these so called International schools they will be taught at home. Hope you don’t mind 😉

Anyway, you agreed that people asking schools not to teach this are blinded by stupidity so there goes your “I beg you not to insult people in this part of the world and accuse them to be blinded by hate” ……
I don’t believe that the average person here is blinded by stupidity nor hatred. People I meet here are educated, open minded, intelligent and moderate. We are talking about people not being able to differentiate between their hate for the Jewish state Israel and what happened. As we all know..not only Jews died in the Holocaust.

I believe that you misunderstood it. It is not hate. It is some feeling a may describe it as “feeling unfairness”. People feel upset because Jews control media, control money etc. to the point that they exaggerate whenever they want and totally ignore what they don’t want. We are some how to a certain extend being programmed to feel good or bad about what Jews wants us to feel about.

Nobody hates Jews actually, they lived with us for centuries like brothers, if you read history. There was no reason to hate them before 1948, before the slaughters and killings of women and children and innocent people etc. You now all what happened in Palestine.

We feel it’s our duty not to make things worse by further publicizing the lies of the media and if you ask me to teach these kind of things in school i’d refuse. Not because I hate Jews, because I don’t. But because there is a more important and urgent issues that Jews are involved in right now, and teaching children something that may or may not has happened 100 years ago may divert proper attention, disturb priorities or send wrong messages that it’s okay for Jews to kill Palestinians.
