Changes March 25, 2006Posted by Aella in Beirut.
Our move to Saudi Arabia is hereby official. My husband recently had a job offer in Al Khobar, which is located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The offer is like dear old Don Corleone himself would have said, An offer you (just) can't refuse. So that's it. My husband will move before us (end of May) and we will go there during the summer after some time in Sweden.
I am, I must admit a bit both anxious and excited. Both happy and sad. We will all miss Beirut and our family and friends here but there are many pros to our new life as well. We will live on a compound in Khobar which means there will be a swimmingpool, gym and places for the children to play in (among other things). All in all we will have opportunity to do things we cannot do on a daily basis here in Beirut. Here you have to take your children everywhere if they want entertainment. To say that playgrounds and football fields are scarce is an understatement. A lot of the freedom our son had back in Sweden will be reinstated (in a Saudi version of course).
I cannot to be honest bear to think of the whole procedure of moving again. Just wanna go to bed and pull a blanket over my head. So many things to do and so many papers to fix before we go. And it's only about two months until our move.
